Campus Security
November 15th, 2011NYIE is committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment. NYIE generates a “Campus Crime Report” annually, detailing its procedures and any crimes that may have occurred on campus (in compliance with the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990). Each student is provided a copy of the procedures and current report during their orientation, prior to attendance. Any potential applicant for employment or enrollment can request, in writing, a copy of the report from the Financial Aid Administration.
NYIE utilizes a video surveillance system. This system is in place for the protection of our students and employees. It is designed to prevent and/or document any theft or potential untoward or unprofessional behavior. If any such things are reported or documented, the video documentation allows NYIE to take swift and decisive action so as to protect our students and employees to the fullest extent possible.
Video surveillance is operational in the classrooms, the entrance, bookstore, computer lab, waiting area, dining area, and the main office area. When instituting the system, NYIE kept the privacy of its students and staff an utmost concern. No cameras are in place in the changing rooms, the clinic rooms or the bathrooms, nor will they be. Any questions or concerns with regard to the video surveillance should be addressed to the Director, Diane Dinsmore.
